hey guys, i thought some of you might be interested in the new hellcat band, left alone. i came across some mp3's from their new album here on the epitaph site and they sound great! i definetly recommend checking them out, its worth it! i love the title track from the album, lonely stars & broken hearts. their album just came out a few weeks ago. what do you guys think? theyre touring this summer too! they might be one of the best bands on hellcats roster...well besides rancid.

ok new band [28 Jul 2004|12:11am]

so i have been cramming a lot of music into today...but i logged into one of my many email accounts and saw that i had been added on myspace by a person called crimsonaddict.
upon investigation i see that it is a band. righteous.

so i added them and started listening.

these are some great guys. they describe themselves as (and i quote) "a dynamic, emotional journey that embodies the characteristics of what is Indie music."

now if you aren't into pop punk emo ish sorta music then don't listen. but seriously even if you aren't into it, give it a listen.

now i love all types of music so you won't find many bad reviews by me, but i have listened to all of the songs listed on myspace except the last one, and i am about to turn it on, then i am heading to their site to check it out i implore you to do the same.

and i think i might make the trip to Louisville to check them out at Pappy's so yeah give them a look see. er listen hear. hehehe

straight from Campbell California [27 Jul 2004|04:07pm]

give a big hand to Hyena Suite

now i had to search for a link to their music, but i found one and i love their music to death. the drummer is a really nice guy and has offered a tour of Campbell California to anyone who comes around (if you didn't know, lars frederiksen of rancid/the bastards is from campbell)

so here is one link, and i will have to check my email and get the other links.
the guys in Hyena Suite just finished recording a new cd so keep your eyes out!

welcome to warped... [27 Jul 2004|03:31pm]

ok as i know some of you have gone to the warped tour this year, and for those who didn't have the money or are out of the way or country...here are some of the bands on smaller demo and compilation discs that they handed out for free.

anyhow these are the bands/songs on the disc that Volcom is handing out...
ASG "matadors of the heart"
A faith called chaos "the pugilist"
Arkham "peirato"
Guttermouth "surf's up assholes"
Single Frame "mod style '68"
Another Damn Disappointment "mr. suit & tie"
Vaux "celibrate good times"
Vaux "broke the brakes"
Arraya "what the dead have to say"
Arkham "driving the carpel tunnel"
Dorothy Sanchez "man at work"
Pepper "ashes"
Pepper "punk rock cowboy"
Pepper presents: arena productions "808 party"
ASG "southern lord"
Another damn disappointment "days go bye"
Consumers "registered tradmark"
Theline "police, berr, & heroin"
Theline "buck shot"
Goons of dome "if god was me"

so if you can't go by the volcom booth at warped then download these songs. or check out others from these bands. i plan on doing that as well. i love the cd. it is a great mix.

Pepper. this band has a ska reggae type like feeling to them, at least in most of the songs i have heard... very very awesome.
also i want to mention, not on the discs, but closely related to Pepper is
Slightly Stoopid.
my friend is a very very big fan of theirs, and they will be playing a free show in Chicago next month with the marley brothers. w00t!

i will get websites for them posted as well as soon as i find some, anyone know of any?
oh and do try

now at the cleveland times booth, which won't be at your warped hehe, although there might be a local paper with freebies at your venue, gave me a free paper with an article about the ten years of warped,
a cigarette lighter plugging the band "stab-o-matic" http://www.stabomatic.com
and two free cd's as well as flyers for after tour cookouts and shit.
the first cd was crimson rain. i popped it into my x-box and it was one recorded track with the three songs on it, i didn't get through the first song, but you might like it. i prolly would if i gave it a chance, but the first is a full song "sweet november morning" and the next two are clips, "all i want is you" and "more than you need"
the second disc was that of 2nd half "look the other way" "remembering" and "this one"

then outside while waiting in line i was approached by two people at different times trying to sell a cd for a band that has to sell like oh so many to be able to afford the next venue. it is a mess of some sort. but i was nice and bought one for $5.00. there are three bands, three songs a band
first band was soapbox revolt
2.for them
3.diamond rings and other things
the second band was eight fingers down
1.blue skies and atomic bombs
2.pave the way
3.remember how it was
the third was none the less (courtesy of liberty records)
3.bad mistakes
check out the record label ibex records at http://www.ibexrecords.com

there was yet another guy who came out with a discman and let us listen to his band, which i -loved- but didn't have enough money to buy the discs, which were 2 for ten dollars...so i had to pass. there was a compilation disc and then another one which i forgot what he called it, but he gave me stickers and the name of the band is
Over It so try to find them online somewhere i haven't checked yet online cause i am a horrible person, plus the guitarist is hot, he is who came to talk to us.
so remember
Over It.

ok enough warped plugging. all the bigger bands were great as well. and most of them were seen walking around the venue, and whatnot. anyone else know of some smaller bands that played warped? let us know!!

.divided. [20 Jun 2004|01:45pm]

i know i know there is a lotta lotta people split between rancid and the distillers and tim and brody, but meh whatever...

uhm for those of you who like the distillers, or just brody, get over to brody_pix and uhm. show pics.

and/or any number of the rancid communities rancidrawks,rancidradio,rancid_fans

ok cool. i whored for the day.

and as for me, i am a fan of both, but if at the end of life i had to choose who i wanted to go to hell with. it would definately be rancid, cause even in hell, i would be in heaven. and rockin out.

The Sniveling Little Ratfaced Gits... [18 Jun 2004|07:08pm]

i must say, i love them, The Gits.

they were an up and coming band in seattle.

"Mia Zapata (lead singer)is buried at Cave Hill cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, one of the places where she grew up."

see, she left a concert one night, and she was never seen alive again. her body was found on the sidewalk, beaten and raped.
eventually they found her killer, who was in jail for another act of violence...it is sad such a thing happened, and even though she is no longer with us, the rest of the band is, and i think we should show our support.

check them out: TheGits.Com
